Hotel Draken – Gustaf Dicksson

Welcome to Clarion Hotel Draken, a fabulous new addition to the city’s cultural scene. Built on top of a dusty syndicate building and an historical cinema, this elegant sky scraper represents the new Gothenburg as a glorious destination for co-workers, conference visitors and spa-spotters. In a series of three screen printed graphics created for Gustaf Dicksson‘s exhibition at Folk in February 2024 we joyfully reproduce collaged postcards from the event city Gothenburg. Gustaf has a tender love for the city of Volvo 740 that exudes an open, entrepreneurial spirit with a sustainability ethos that runs through the city’s sights and attractions.

Gustaf Dicksson runs the independent record shop Discreet Music with a handful of labels, notably Förlag för Fri Musik, and his own sacral projekt BLOD. His collages and poster art often draw equal inspiration from communist agit prop, dirty Disney bootleg parodies and spiritual green wave anthroposophy nudist camps.
